The Tahoe Cup Paddle Race Series

The 2018 Summer of Lake Tahoe Paddle Racing

UPDATE! 2018 Tahoe Fall Classic Race (all distances) is CANCELED due to high winds and unsafe lake crossing conditions!

posted: 9:45am, Friday September 14, 2018.

The wind is too high to cross the lake but we can still have fun and paddle!

Let’s utilize the wind and take advantage of Lake Tahoe’s awesome downwind conditions. We are scheduling to meet at Watermans Landing at 9am where you will receive your shirt and race mug and start organizing the first downwind shuttle. We will have three shuttle times set up for the day.

If you are less experienced in downwind conditions we would recommend going on the first shuttle as the wind will be good but not peaking. First shuttle will leave Watermans at 10am. Shuttle two will be around 12 and will be for those with downwind experience only and shuttle three will be at 2 and again must be a very experienced downwind paddler.

If you are interested in paddling in a double Surfski or OC2 with Jay Wild please send us a message and we can schedule it. It would be a great way to experience the ultimate Tahoe sleigh ride with the guy that does it all the time!

After we have surfed perfect Tahoe bumps all day we will have a party at Watermans to talk about it and just enjoy hanging with our great paddle community!

About the Tahoe Cup

Since its inception in 2009, the Tahoe Cup, hosted by the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association (LTWA), has been a combined effort of participants, sponsors, and exhibitors who continue  to promote and enhance paddlesport activities and events in the Tahoe Basin. The proceeds from the Tahoe Cup benefit the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association and its mission.

As a local 501c3 non-profit organization, LTWA’s mission is to preserve the California Tahoe Conservancy land that provides public access to Lake Tahoe in Carnelian Bay, and educate the public on the value of non-motorized paddle sports that offer a unique way to live a fit and healthy Tahoe Waterman lifestyle.

We have created competitive paddle teams, provide instruction and scholarships to youth pursuing paddle sports, and host charitable and educational activities that align with this goal. We are passionate about kids staying active and healthy and want to provide an outlet for kids to get strong, fit, and have fun in the pristine waters of Lake Tahoe.
